I'm Andrew, my friends call me Andy, I'm an award winning Autistic filmmaker. I'm based in the North East of the UK, hailing from Middlesbrough, Teesside. I operate under the banner of Winward Studios for my personal projects, but I'm happy to work with other people and organisations as an individual. I am competent writing, directing, filming and editing. I believe in creating content that is visually and intellectually rich and entertaining. Telling stories set in and about the North East is very important to me.

 

My passion for storytelling has gained awards and recognition. BEST FILM at Middlesbrough International Film Festival in 2015 and 2019. BEST COMEDY, BEST SCREENPLAY and BEST STUDENT FILM at AFC Film Festival 2024. AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD at Terror on Tyne Horror Film Festival 2024. Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary ReCreate Competition and Get North’s Remake A Take: DIY Film Challenge, both in 2018. I've also had work shown on ITV's This Morning in 2014 as part of their Supernatural Week, as well as being awarded the FRANC RODDAM PRODUCTION BURSARY in 2024.

In 2010 I completed a two year foundation degree in Photography, and in 2024 I completed a three year BA degree in Film and Television Production.
